FUNDING

We invite applications for STAR funding to support workshops and scientific meetings that benefit the stochastics community in the Netherlands. Through this support, we aim to encourage scientific exchange, strengthen connections within the community, and foster new collaborations. There will be about three application calls per year. The deadline for applications is 31.10.2026. We can offer a maximal support of 3500 Euros. You can expect receive an answer by 20.11.2026.

To apply, please send a proposal to w.m.ruszel@uu.nl . Your application must include:

1. Workshop or meeting details
Please provide the title and a brief description of the event, together with the names and affiliations of the organisers, the dates and location, the number of days, the expected number of participants, and a list of invited speakers. Where possible, please indicate which speakers have already confirmed their participation.

2. Motivation and relevance to STAR
Explain how the topic of the workshop or meeting aligns with STAR and why the event will benefit the Dutch stochastics community. For example, you could describe how it brings together researchers from different institutions or research areas, creates opportunities for early-career researchers, or helps develop new scientific collaborations.

3. Budget overview and requested support
Provide an overview of the expected income and expenses, clearly stating the amount requested from STAR and explaining how this funding will be spent. Please also list other funding sources, including institutional contributions and participation fees where applicable, and indicate whether these are confirmed or pending.
